Building on L’Atelier by Selma Feriani’s ongoing residency programme, a new collaboration with Nafas has welcomed two international artists to Tunis, Tunisia, Tasneem Sarkez & Nina Kintsurashvili. The artists have been developing their projects through engagement with local histories, landscapes, communities, and cultural practices. The program aims to provide each resident with the resources and space needed to carry out research and production of new works. By joining forces, Nafas and L’Atelier by Selma Feriani seek to build a platform rooted in openness, collaboration, and curiosity. Through this collaboration, the residency expanded to a new dedicated studio space within Tunis's suburbs and strengthened the visibility of the programme to a broader audience, contributing to our ongoing commitment to creating wider spaces for experimentation, reflection, and artistic exchange. CURATORIAL COLLABORATION Working closely with the artists, curator Racha Khemiri, provides critical insight and ongoing support throughout the development of each project. Her approach fosters continuous dialogue between artistic process, context, and evolving forms of presentation. This work will continue through upcoming open studio sessions, with dates to be announced soon. About curator Racha Khemiri is an emerging curator and researcher whose work explores questions of history, representation, and critical memory. She holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in English Language, Literature, and Civilization from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Tunis, where her research examined British wartime visual culture, focusing on women artists and the politics of representation through a feminist lens. With a background in English and Cultural Studies, her practice is rooted in research and shaped by feminist and critical theories, often drawing from literature, philosophy, and archival inquiry. She is currently an Associate Curator at Selma Feriani Gallery, where she also leads L’Atelier by Selma Feriani, the gallery’s residency program.
